ru.jpg  Rutgers wins Texas Bowl, 37-10

HOUSTON – From 1-11 to 11-2 and now, a bowl victory. With a 37-10 win over Kansas State tonight in the Inaugural Texas Bowl, Rutgers has won its first bowl game in school history.

Almost from the coin toss, it was all Rutgers, all the way. True freshman wide receiver Tim Brown, who was a late start for James Townsend, hauled in two touchdown catches in the first quarter. He finished with 101 yards. Outstanding sophomore running back Ray Rice, ran for 170 yards and a touchdown in the game.

But the unheralded stars of the game were the Rutgers defense. They allowed only 168 yards to the Wildcats and practically smothered QB Josh Freeman from the beginning of the game. LB Quintero Frierson intercepted a Freeman pass early in the second half and returned it for a touchdown. The defense forced three turnovers.

10622248_240×180.jpg This guy wins the dumb-ass of the day award!  It never ceases to amaze me how stupid people really are.  You carjack, strike 1.  You don’t know the area your trying to flee from, strike 2.  And for strike 3, you call the police to help you !?!  LOL what an idiot!  Oh, does anyone know why do these stories always seem to come out of Florida?  Must be the humidity……

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Police said a man who carjacked an SUV in Boca Raton drove all the way to Palm Springs before becoming lost and calling 911 on himself.

AWESOME!!!!!!!  I NEED to find this!

Beer enthusiasts and Monty Python fans everywhere rejoice!

Now there’s a beer that combines two of your passions. Monty Python’s Holy Grail Ale is a delicious beer that the Knights of the Round Table would have been proud of. It is brewed by the Black-sheep Brewery in Yorkshire, England since 1999 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python.

Even though the label says this fine Ale is “tempered over burning witches,” the Black Sheep Brewery prides itself on centuries old brewing traditions, which rarely includes burning witches. The ale is an effervescent, copper colored ale with a floral nose and a wonderful fruity hop finish.

The Holy Grail Ale is also available in draft at selected locations throughout the USA.

Children watched in horror as a Santa Claus collapsed and died as he handed out presents at a Christmas party on Sunday.

Andrew Robertson was taken ill as the excited youngsters received their gifts. The 82-year-old was taken to a side room and attempts made to revive him, but he was pronounced dead when medics arrived.

Mr Robertson, from Dundee, had played Santa at the city’s Broughty Castle bowling club Christmas party, held for the grandchildren of members, for several years.

plane.jpg  13 cent tickets?  Ummm where do I sign up?  Wait…. I DO want the plane to have gas right…. and I DO actually want to make it to my destination…. yes so here’s $325 up front….  so it seems that Spring Airline in China was fined for going below the minimum price on airline tickets.  Now, I’m not one for price fixing.  You should be able to charge any price you like for a product but I think 13 cents may be a tad low, lol.

BEIJING, China (AP) — A Chinese budget airline that sold tickets for as little as 13 U.S. cents has been fined for violating government price controls, a news report said Monday.

A Spring Airlines subsidiary was fined 150,000 yuan ($20,000; €15,000) for violating rules that limit discounts on government-set ticket prices, the official Xinhua News Agency said.

Spring’s Jinan Spring Holiday Travel Agency sold 400 tickets on flights between Shanghai and the eastern city of Jinan for 1 yuan (13 cents; 10 euro cents), the report said. They accounted for 10 percent of seats on Spring’s flights from November 30 to December 10.

A regular one-way ticket on that route costs 910 yuan ($116; €88), including taxes.

Chinese airlines are barred from offering discounts of more than 45 percent on the government-set price, said an official of the Jinan Price Bureau, who would give only his surname, Tang.
